Keeping your teeth healthy and clean can sometimes be a hassle, but we don’t want you to resort to asking us a question that one dentist in Chicago was asked by his patient: “Can you pull all my teeth, and just give me dentures?” We certainly hope you do not make a request like this one, but if you are in need of dentures, dental implants, or any other type of restorative dentistry, we are here to help at Cornerstone Dental.
More About Dental Implants
Our implants are made of biocompatible titanium and are secured into the jaw where a tooth is missing. Dental implants are secured by a small rod that is placed directly into the jaw where the bone and rod will form a bond over time. These implants are independent from one another so they function like a regular tooth—this way the implant will act as a natural tooth in your mouth. As long as they are properly cared for, dental implants can last for the rest of your life.
More About Dentures
There are multiple options when you are in need of dentures. Full dentures are a complete set of teeth on the top and bottom of your jaw. These may be removed and held in place with adhesive or natural suction. An option with these dentures is to have certain dental implants placed in your jaw so when the dentures are placed in your mouth, they are more secure and have less chance of moving around. Partial dentures replace several teeth on one arch and are secured in place by attaching to surrounding, healthy teeth. These are made from modern synthetic materials to make your smile look natural. Bridges replace one or more teeth and are secured to other teeth like partial dentures. The main difference here is that bridges may not be removed and are fixed once placed.
